Overview
Illustrating Expanses: a juried landscape themed exhibition
For this third and final installment of a series of themed open call exhibitions designed to explore the most basic forms of art, we ask that artists explore the realm of landscape.
From vast colorful countryside to stark geometric cityscapes, this show presents the challenge of opening one’s perspective and presenting something grander. Take time to consider places and regions that conjure the extraordinary beauty of our world, or invoke feelings and memories of locations we long to see. Explore those vistas with any medium or style, and take your audience on a journey through the simple art of landscape.
Submission Guidelines
Please read them carefully before submitting artwork!
- The deadline is Friday, April 18th, 2025.
- To submit artwork for consideration, please follow these guidelines:
- Artists may submit up to Three pieces for consideration.
- All media is accepted, including sculpture. Art submitted should not be bigger than 30” x 40” and is ready to display. (3-dimensional pieces must be display-ready, either free-standing or wall-hanging)
- Please upload quality images (no more than 2MB in size, jpeg) labeled appropriately for identification purposes (ex: lastname_title.jpg)
- IF YOU ARE MISSING CRITERIA YOUR SUBMISSION MAY NOT BE ACCEPTED.
- Artists not from the SWFL area are responsible for any and all shipping costs for the delivery of accepted artwork and the return of unsold work.
- Pending acceptance, artwork must be ready to display. 2D work must be ready to hang with hanging wire or appropriate hardware, and the sculpture must be free-standing. Pedestals can be provided for small-scale 3D works. Any works not display-ready upon the drop-off date are subject to rejection!
- Artwork must have been produced within the past 12 months. Art previously exhibited at art shows will not be accepted.
- Art Created with AI, even if partially, will not be accepted.
- **Most importantly, artwork must adhere to the theme of “Illustrating expanses” (landscapes) (A landscape is the visible features of an area of land, its landforms, and how they integrate with natural or human-made features, often considered in terms of their aesthetic appeal.)
