Call for Artists: Holiday Season Exhibition – “Merry Movie Magic:
Art inspired by Holiday Cinema”
The holiday season is upon us, and with it comes the magic of Holiday movies that have warmed our hearts and homes for generations. We are excited to announce an open call for artists for our upcoming exhibition, “Merry Movie Magic: art inspired by holiday cinema” The exhibition will be on display throughout December at the Conservatory Gallery and during one of our busiest events; Festival of Trees!
Exhibition Description:
“Merry Movie Magic” invites artists to capture the enchanting world of beloved Holiday films through their unique artistic lenses. From the whimsical adventures of “Elf” and the timeless tale of “It’s a Wonderful Life” to the heartwarming charm of “Home Alone” and the magical journey of “The Polar Express,” this exhibition aims to celebrate the stories, characters, and scenes that have become an integral part of our holiday traditions.
Submission Guidelines:
- Theme: Artwork must be inspired by Holiday movies, capturing the essence, characters, scenes, or emotions of these films.
- Mediums: All visual art forms are welcome, including painting, drawing, sculpture, digital art, mixed media, and photography. (No AI art will be accepted)
- Size: Art has to be 16” x 20” or less.
- Price: Art has to be priced at $250 or less.
- Submission Deadline: Friday, November 22nd
- Art drop off: Friday, November 29th
- Submission Format: Artists may submit up to 3 pieces. Digital submissions should include high-resolution images of the artwork, no bigger than 2mb, and a brief description of each piece.
- Eligibility: Open to artists of all backgrounds and experience levels.
Exhibition Details:
- Dates: December 4th – 26th
- Venue: Conservatory Gallery
- Purchase: Patrons can take home the art the same day as purchased
- Opening Reception: Wednesday, December 4th.
- Art pick up: Friday, December 27th.
- Submission Deadline: November 22nd
- Additional Information: Selected artists will be notified by Monday, November 25th. There is no entry fee for submissions.
